Welcome to STRIVE WorldWIDE, Jr! By request, this program has been designed to teach the younger learner (ages 9-15) various skill sets from our general STRIVE WorldWIDE Courses; focusing on building a strong base of independent living skills. This program will run for seven weeks, using live Zoom seminars and self-paced “homework” for review. Each Zoom seminar is fun, engaging and interactive with peers! Our instructors teach through goal setting, reflection, and games, while remaining flexible to individual needs. This course will run from 06/24/24 to 08/09/2024 (Seven weeks) Seminars will meet on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-6:30pm Eastern Time Instructor: Sara Brown, SBrown@pslstrive.org By the end of this course, participants should be able to... 1. Explain the difference between emergency and non-emergency needs 2. Describe the importance of physical activity, sleep and food as fuel for our bodies 3. Identify boundaries and demonstrate the ability to set limits 4. Express self awareness by identifying a personal strength, weakness, like and dislike 5. Identify common social cues including facial expression, body language, voice tone and volume, and personal space. 6. Practice setting SMART goals with Tiny Habits 7. Identify priorities based on values and goals 8. Practice finding multiple solutions to a problem
